League Accepts Nackawic's Expansion Bid

The Southern Hockey League has accepted a bid from the Nackawic Hawks to operate a franchise begining this 2007/08 season.

The Nackawic bid was presented to the league at the AGM held earlier this month, and after time to consider the proposal the league held a confrence call and accepted franchise to the fold.

Although details of the bid have not been released, the league is expected to operate a 7 team circuit with a balanced 24 game schedule. Play-off format has yet to be determined.

The Nackawic Hawks franchise are a former member or the SJVSHL (Saint John Valley Senior Hockey League) and are a welcome addition to to the loop.
