St. Stephen Host Entry Draft

The St. Stephen Seahawks organization did a fantastic job in hosting the 2007 entry draft on Thanksgiving Monday, at Dooley's.

Before the draft got under way, there were several trades announced by SHL President, Sheldon Currie. Most notable movements saw Mike Vaughan traded from the Saint John Blackhawks to the Grand Lake Predators for several players.

Nick Theriault went from the Fredericton Hilltop Bud Lights to the Blacks Harbour Silverkings in exchange for multiple draft picks, including first and second round picks.

Blacks picked up another first round pick from the Saint John Blackhawks, however, trading the rights to five players, Joel Cousins, Paul Andrea, Mat Nicholle, Geoff Cunningham, and Jarvis Loga.

The Seahawks were active in the trade front as well, first reacquiring enforcer and fan-favorite, Scott Goulette, from the Grand Lake Thrashers for the same fifth round pick that he was exchanged for last season.

Goaltender Nick Nozzolillo will be suiting up for the Seahawks this season after being acquired from the Fredericton Hilltop Bud Lights.
