By Law 6 - Appeals

League members may appeal to HNB, following any ruling, disciplinary action, or decision of a protest made by the League President.

Appeals shall be presented to HNB in accordance with their guidelines.

By Law 7 – Playoffs

The playoff format shall be as set out in 7-3, 7-4,and 7-5 below, and any changes to this format shall normally only be made at the Annual General Meeting upon a majority vote.

A pre-playoff meeting shall be held as soon as possible after all the playoff positions are determined. Agenda items at this meeting will include, inter alia, officiating, goal judging, scheduling, rosters, and discipline.

Playoff format: Home Team shall be the team completing the regular season with the highest number of points in the standings.

If there is a 4 team league, then the following shall apply:

1st place finisher plays a best of seven series against the 4th place finisher.
2nd place finisher plays a best of seven series against the 3rdth place finisher.
The Winner of 1 v. 4 series plays a best of seven series against the winner 2 v. 3 series.

If there is a 5 team league, then the following shall apply:

A) 1st Round 4th seed v 5th seed. Best of 5 series
2nd Round 1st seed v 1st Round Winner. Best of 7 series
3rd Round 2nd seed v 3rd seed. Best of 7 series
4th Round 2nd Round Winner v 3rd Round Winner. Best of 7 series

 If there is a 6 team league, then the following shall apply:

Teams finishing 1st and 2nd at the conclusion of regular season play earn a bye of the1st Round of Playoffs

1st Round – Best of 5 Series

Series A   - 3rd place Team versus 6th place Team

Series B   - 4th place Team versus 5th place Team

B) 2nd Round – Best of 7 Series

Series A   - 1st  place Team versus 1st playoff round winner with lowest finish during regular season play.

Series B   - 2nd  place Team versus remaining team from 1st round playoffs.

C) 3rd Round – Best of 7 Championship Round

Winner of 2nd Round Series A versus winner 2nd Round series B
